By installing and investing in modern equipment, you can increase the longevity of your property lifespan and add value.
Provide a more comfortable environment for daily living through efficient and modern improvements to heating and cooling.
If you are located in a BC Hydro service territory, included City of Westminster, you could be eligible for 100% of funding.
Incentives can be available for purpose-built rental, condo and equity co-op buildings that are low/high rise apartments, stacked townhomes or 3 storeys or more with common areas for lighting and mechanical systems.
WHAT IS INCLUDED UNDER MURB?
There are a number of offers available to multi-unit residential buildings through the BC Hydro incentive program. We’ve listed some options below, though you could be eligible for individual unit upgrades, solar power and EV. We recommend getting in touch with our team to discuss your building and see what options may be available to you.
OPPORTUNITY ASSESSMENT
An opportunity assessment is where our team can come and identify where your energy is being used most and provide recommendations of short to long-term projects which can improve your efficiency. Opportunities in the assessment can range from the move to a more efficient heating system to upgrading your lighting.
Funding for an opportunity assessment can be up to 100% covered at a maximum of $5,000 (Excl tax).
Feasibility Study
With incentives up to $30,000 (excl tax) for a feasibility study available for your apartment or condo, this incentive is open to strata buildings, market rentals and equity Co-Ops.
The study would involve our experts analyzing your building for options, finances and impact for you, should you want to understand if your project idea is feasible and be unsure. The study provides a reliable source of information for you to aid you in making a decision.
Funding amounts differ depending on the study; however could cover 100% of costs if you start implementing the project within the study in 12 months from the study being done.
Rebates for equipment upgrades
Funding varies depending on the equipment being installed into your whole building and how the building is heated.
You may receive funding towards:
Heat pumps (thru-wall, single, multi-split, central)
In-suite, or central pump water heaters
Windows (not available for buildings heated by gas)
