BUSINESS ENERGY UPGRADE GRANTS IN IRELAND

At BES, we can provide support for energy upgrade grants and applications made by small and medium enterprises (SME’s) registered in the Republic of Ireland. With several incentives available, the grants can differ depending on business or building type; however, they can include:

what type of incentives are available?

Heat Pumps:

You can receive a grant of 30%, up to €100,000.

These heat pumps can be used for your heating and hot water, as well as joint heating and cooling (or a combo of the two).

With the grant aiming to replace an existing heat pump system with one that is decarbonised, it also includes the cost for upgrading pipework and radiators. There are a few options available to applicants, all which include the potential to reduce energy consumption and costs.

Air Handling Unit (AHU) upgrades

This grant offers the potential to save 30% of costs up to €25,000 to replace or upgrade your AHU.

As an imperative element to a buildings fresh air supply, this grant also offers a retrofit option for older systems that are unable to be replaced but due to be modernised.

High Efficiency Pumps

This grant offers a 30% return on costs, of up to €10,000 (depending on building and pumps)

This grant provides organisations with the potential to reduce flow rate within their water systems. It looks at replacing older systems with modern pumps and can be utilised for heating, cooling and water systems.

 Solar Thermal

Focusing on solar energy to heat water, the grant offers up to 30% of costs to a maximum of €15,000. 

With the rise of solar energy, this grant aims to reduce carbon impact and energy costs. The system install can be used to meet 60% of hot water needs, though this is dependent on your particular case.

Building Management System (BMS) Upgrades:
Optimisation

The optimisation grant offers up to €2,000 for organisations with existing systems in place. This total should cover the majority of costs towards both the audit and optimisation process.

Building Management System (BMS) Upgrades: Controls

The controls grant offers up to €30,000 with the aim to assist in the automation of your building operations.

Solar Photovoltaic (PV)

Solar PV panels are used to produce electricity. The grant is available for systems with a power usage of a maximum of 1000 kWp. The reimbursement amount differs on account of kWp, though the maximum amount extends to €162,000
