At BES, we offer commercial energy audits for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across Ireland, supporting energy conservation, lowering energy costs, and improving overall energy efficiency through expert-led energy audits. Whether you operate a retail shop, office, manufacturing unit, or warehouse, understanding your energy use is the first step toward reducing costs and enhancing sustainability.

Our assessments follow the guidelines of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) under the Support Scheme for Energy Audits (SSEA). Through this grant-backed service, you can access high-quality energy audits with 100% of the cost covered for eligible businesses.

See if your business qualifies for a €2,000 grant to help cover the expense of a professional energy audit.

WHAT IS A COMMERCIAL ENERGY AUDIT?

A commercial energy audit is a professional assessment of how your business consumes energy. It highlights inefficiencies and provides a clear action plan for reducing waste, improving systems, and saving money.

Our certified energy auditors and building engineers will examine key areas of your business — from lighting, heating, and ventilation to insulation, equipment, and renewables. The goal is to help you save energy, lower energy costs, and future-proof your operations.

Think of it as your custom energy roadmap, built around your business.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SUPPORT?

To qualify for the Support Scheme for Energy Audits (SSEA), your business must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a non-obligated entity — meaning your business is not legally required to carry out energy audits under Irish energy regulations.

  • Be tax compliant.

  • Be registered in the Republic of Ireland.

  • Spend at least €10,000 annually on energy (excluding transport fuels) at the location being audited.

  • Have not previously used a €2,000 energy audit voucher through this scheme.

Non-obligated entities include:

  • Small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

  • Public sector bodies that operate from buildings smaller than 500 square metres and have yearly energy expenses below €35,000.

If you’re unsure whether your business qualifies, our team at BES is here to help confirm your eligibility and guide you through the application process.
